Carey Business School – Johns Hopkins University

The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School opened in January 2007. It was built using a $50 million donation from William Polk Carey, who wished to name the school after his great-great-great grandfather, a businessman in Baltimore. However, business education at Johns Hopkins dates back to 1916, when the school first began offering classes in Business Economics. The school earned accreditation by the AACSB in February 2017.

The campuses of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School span the corridor that stretches from Baltimore to Washington, D.C. Located on Massachusetts Avenue in downtown Washington D.C., just blocks away from many embassies and government offices, the school’s DC campus provides the sort of insight into the policy-making and regulatory communities that only proximity can bring. The state-of-the-art Harbor East flagship campus is located on the Baltimore harbor, just off of the Jones Falls Expressway.

Part-time students have the opportunity to fulfill their core courses in two additional locations: Columbia and Montgomery County.

The Baltimore-based program is located in the state-of-the-art Legg Mason building overlooking the Inner Harbor. The 28,000-square-foot visitor center houses an alumni board room in addition to the admissions office. The building serves as the Homewood campus’ front door.

Carey Business School students have the opportunity to study with faculty across the university, including the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab as well as the Schools of Engineering, Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Arts, and Sciences, and Advanced International Studies.

The Carey School of Business employs 93 full-time faculty members.

To enhance the learning experience, from time to time, the Carey Business School invites seasoned executives to spend concentrated time on campus and share real-world experiences with the students.
